It was a beautiful day..
The cold air breezed through the small slit of the open window. She lifted her head off the warm pillow and sighed, turning over she turned off the irritating interruption of the alarm and pushed herself into a sitting position. She blinked in the dark and brushed the hair out of her tired eyes and swung her feet over the side of the bed. Her feet hit the cold floor and she winced as a sudden rush of cold air came through and struck her, rudely awakening her senses....
... The air was crisp and refreshing and she picked up her step as she headed towards the DC, she smiled warmly at the friendly lady at the till and strolled through the comforting warmth to the breakfast items, yawning she waited for the rich cocoa to fill the bright yellow cup. She wandered across squinting in the bright lights and picked up her freshly toasted bagel. The sunlight flooded the spacious room as other students tried to awaken themselves to a new day and the prospects it held, different people had had various success. Some bounced around nibbling on toast and muffins whilst others stared despondently into their coffee cups. She sat at a small table in the window and stared into the bright promising day ahead. Smiling she reached for her phone to update herself on yesterdays occurrences with her friend and to touch base with her brother back home. As she wrote out her texts she took bites of the cooling bagel and enjoyed the sweetness of the cocoa....
...She broke throughout the snug warmness of the DC and burst into the chilled air outside. As she moved through the campus the sun playfully glittered on yesterdays remaining puddles and the biting wind blew through her hair, dancing with the ends of the scarf she had tied around her head. As the winter elements washed away the tiredness and stress she smiled to herself and watched the waltzing leaves cross her path and suddenly get flung into the air to continue there merry game high above the ground. The sky seemed endless, stretching from possibilities in the East to excitments in the West everywhere a dazzling blue unspoiled by a cloud wanting to take the opportunities away...
...Seated in her American home she looked with conflicting interest and disappointment at the unnerving gray clouds that now filled the sky, bullying the beautiful blue away. Filled with a contentment from hearing her brothers voice and laughing with him she sighed at the disruptive clouds and hoped for peaceful snow. Knowing the contentment would be fleeting she smiled at the clouds as if to challenge them to change her mood. As if in answer a few small birds flew seamlessly through the darkening sky unphased by the changing climate... Maybe we shall see snow or perhaps nature will continue to hold us all hostage to our hopes... We shall have to wait and see...

Dining Commons? As in the "House of Commons" so its the Dining Common Room, so why didn't she just put the refectory or dining room? Oh No Not Helen, she has to get us all confused and think it was some sort of secret place, like Washington DC, as in District of Columbia, which is a long way to go to eat every morning. You see us poor people stuck in Brum just know the lingo, you have to remember we are quite stupid, which is why we are still in Brum.
