Hi ho hi ho it's up the mountain we go...
Yesterday (Sat 14th) we (International Friends group) climbed Mt Monadnock, the worlds 2nd most climbed mountain! The MOUNTAIN (not hill) is 3165 ft and was flippin hard work to get up/down. Much of the route up was more rock climbing and took us (Team Go - the first 5 of us to reach the sumit - Sarah, myself, Amy and two guys from Japan who's names i forget :S) around 2 hrs, maybe a little more as didn't time it! It was so worth it though as the view was beautiful!!
Just proving it wasn't steps or a nice lil walk up the moutain... i know what you people are like, you'll think of anything to say i didn't really do it!
The top is all stone now as someone cut down the trees and they never grew back... oh you know in Lord of the Rings when they come out of the caves (in the 1st one) and they're sitting on just lots of rock? that's what it looked like.
Anyway it gave us all a great sense of achievement that we'd made it! The top, being so high and unprtected gets hit by the winds full strength, yesterday reaching between 10-15 or 35 miles an hour (two people told us different speeds!) it felt like the faster as it sometimes actually pushed you backwards.
Right having pic trouble.... again ... so going to publish this and do another..
xx
